Itinerary
First day: Cusco, Alfamayo and Santa Maria
At 7:00 am we will pick up passengers from their hotels and head by bus to the Santa Maria sector, passing through the Abra de Malaga (4350 masl) 150 km from the city
of Cusco. This is a good day to start and we will ascend enjoying the landscape of the ecological plateau of the Puna directly to the high jungle, that is, from 4350 to 1430 masl where the climate is pleasant from the beginning to the end. From the sector known as Abra de Malaga we begin the descent by bicycle, most of it downhill until reaching a point of 3 hours on bicycles. Here we get ready to join
and do an optional canoeing sport. Accommodation in a family lodging, dinner.
Second day: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa.
After a good breakfast we begin our walk of approximately 6 hours between ascents and descents, but the most interesting thing about this day is that we cross part of the perfectly designed Inca trail, as well as an adventure through the jungle where it is surrounded by green nature full of fruit trees, fast-flowing rivers and exotic animals of the region that make us feel full of satisfaction. Also on the way there will be a comforting bath in the hot springs of Cocalmayo, to then very close to reach Santa Teresa (1900 masl). Accommodation in Lodging, Dinner.
Third day: Santa Teresa and Aguas Calientes.
Breakfast, this day is about nature, adventure and adrenaline, we walk to Machu Picchu. The comfort of this day is in the pleasant climate that oscillates between 25-30°C. This will be a bit different with five hours of walking, we will cross not only hanging bridges used by locals, but also gold trees which will make our day very interesting. Finally we arrive at the town of Machu Picchu or Aguas Calientes. Accommodation in a very comfortable hotel. This day we can combine our adventure sport by doing the zip line.
Fourth day: Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu and Cusco.
Very early breakfast, we head uphill for 60 minutes to the citadel of Machu Picchu, to be able to see the cloud forest and other natural wonders of the sunrise.
We will have practically the whole day to visit the archaeological complex; the same guided by a professional who will make this last day unforgettable in the memory and experience of each one of us. Bus down to Aguas Calientes (Not included, you can request it for an additional price or walk down the same path you took to go up)
Return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and finally transfer from the Ollantaytambo station to the hotel in Cusco, arriving at approximately 9:30pm.
